New Friars Moor clinic opens in Shaftesbury
hgkc client Friars Moor have opened their new clinic in Shaftesbury, 10 years after first opening their doors to care for local pets (and their owners) living in the town and surrounding areas.
‘Friars Moor Vets are thrilled to have moved into their new, purpose-built clinic adjacent to our old building at the Wincombe Business Park. This expansion has been made possible by hard work from many individuals working together in the team, and is a consequence of successful business planning and growth by the directors, with guidance from hgkc’, said small animal Director Gilla Primrose.
Senior Director Andrew Hooker, a long-serving small animal vet who has seen the practice grow from its foundation to 3 clinics today, oversaw the project from the initial search for suitable existing premises to the decision to build from scratch on vacant ground in the business park. Having joined the staff for their open evening recently, we witnesses that Andrew’s hard work and focus on the project has definitely paid off. The new clinic is bright, spacious and well-equipped.
Tom Fenton, small animal vet who has been a key figure involved in the work we have been doing recently with the small animal team on strategy and marketing, and who has been intrinsic in defining an approach to meet the needs of the growing populations around North Dorset - Blandford, Gillingham and Shaftesbury in particular - said: ‘The new branch has been well received by clients who appreciate the fully equipped operating theatre, longer opening hours from 8.30am to 6pm every weekday, nurse clinics daily and Saturday morning vet consultations’.
In a sector that still faces significant pressure from competition, this new clinic both demonstrates Friars Moor’s commitment to independence, and to growing its already strong base in Dorset.
