“I had the idea for Scubawhere while on holiday, then went straight to UWE to learn how to build the code. It was here, as a member of the Enterprise Society, that I met Kim from HGKC. Ever since, they’ve been a vital part of our growth,” Thomas Paris, Managing Director
As a university start-up, Scubawhere rightly had confidence in the viability of their idea. Yet they required support in many essential areas to develop a proof of concept and achieve the investment they needed to make their idea real.

“As we moved from concept phase, we knew we had to make changes,” Paris says. “My business partner and I had started to step on each other’s toes, and the amount of admin felt quite overwhelming. HGKC were able to draft in the ideal support. And by helping us define our roles and responsibilities, we’ve been able to work together much more efficiently.”
After securing their first round of investment, delivering a successful launch and gaining their first paying customers, Scubawhere are now in talks with other resorts.
“There’s been a fantastic response with many people saying this is exactly what the industry needs. We’re now looking towards a much larger round of investment. And as we’re growing, we still depend on HGKC’s guidance and vital hand of support.”
From the Solomon Islands and Dominica, to the Canaries and Indonesia, there is clear demand for their solution.
“When we met HGKC we were nowhere near launching. With their support and guidance, we now have paying customers and real proof of scalability – enabling us to go after larger investment to fulfil Scubawhere’s potential.”
